Open Water Swimming - UPDATE
Posted May 1st, 2011 by Charles Wilson
The open-water swimming season got under way yesterday as planned; the water was 66º C and there were 17 swimmers (or possibly the other way round).
A couple of reminders:
BaRTT #9 - 17.08.2010

Well, the rain held off until the final run ... and then it really rained. Well done to all who took part - some good times and everyone finished - no-one wimped out. I was asked if participants would get extra 'hardcore' points for toughing it out in the torrential conditions. I know I can second-guess Tim in answering a categorical "no". You can, however, bask in the warm glow of knowing you didn't quit:)
New Radley Session

The new Radley evening session made its debut yesterday (24th March). We had about a dozen members enjoying the luxury of a 1.5 hour coached session. This session will continue through Easter and beyond. See you there next week!

Solent Swim

I've been in touch with a group called Champion Behaviours via the Race New Forest website, who organise an annual open water swim from the Isle of Wight back to the mainland. Its sounds like quite a tough swim, but I've always quite liked the thought of swimming from one land mass to another and swimming the channel is probably beyond me...
