New Radley Session
Posted March 25th, 2010 by Robert DaviesThe new Radley evening session made its debut yesterday (24th March). We had about a dozen members enjoying the luxury of a 1.5 hour coached session. This session will continue through Easter and beyond. See you there next week!

Easter holiday swims

The Easter break is nearly on us which means that after the Dragon pool swim this Friday 26 March, we break and return on Friday 23 April for the Summer term sessions.
However, there is no need to sit around eating chocolate and not exercising, as there will be swims at the Rosenblatt pool on 29 March, 12 and 19 April from 8-9pm. Sign up is needed as we are restricted to 24 people (8 max in each of 3 lanes). Remember also there are additional weekly sessions at Barton pool and 2 sessions at Radley College. These sessions need supporting to make them viable.
Happy Easter
Featherstone Training Camp, Northumberland, Tuesday 6 to Sunday 11 April 2010

I'm organising a training camp for Headington RoadRunners just after Easter and it might appeal to triathletes too. Basically lots of off-road running, with country lanes and steep hills for cycling if you want to bring a bike. The swim element might be the outdoor Haltwhistle pool after it opens on 10 April. Eynsham Duathlon Results
Posted March 16th, 2010 by Lesley Parry-JonesDear All
A big thank you to everyone from Oxford Tri who turned out to race or support at the Eynsham Roadrunners Duathlon 2010!!! Apologies in getting the results out as fast as usual: this was my fault due to rushing off to see my Mum Sunday afternoon!
The results can be perused at:
http://www.eynshamroadrunners.org.uk/running/duathlon.html
You'll see that we managed to beat OU Tri in the Town vs Gown competition!
Don't forget to keep in mind that there will be an Eynsham Roadrunners pool tri sometime in August too: probably 15th. Keep it free!

Eynsham Duathlon 2010
Posted February 27th, 2010 by Lesley Parry-JonesDear All
This is just to let you all know that this years Eynsham Roadrunners Duathlon will be taking place at Eynsham pavilion on the morning of Sunday 14th March, and you are all welcome and strongly encouraged to take part. A fair few of you have been to this event in the past and know that it is a low-key friendly but nonetheless competitive event. In fact its turning into a bit of a Town vs Gown event as the Ou Tri club usually send a good few speedy athletes too!
More details can be found at: http://www.eynshamroadrunners.org.uk/images/pdf/duathlon_2010.pdf
Oxford Tri 10 Pin Bowling Evening
Posted February 26th, 2010 by Caroline SlayFollowing on from the success of the previous Oxford Tri social evening the next potentially competitive big night out will be 10 Pin Bowling:
Date: 26th March 2010
Time: 8.30pm
Track session

Big thanks to those that turned up in the freezing pouring rain last night, hardcore award goes to you, and the coaches that endured the standing around biting cold.Seems everyone enjoyed ( apart from the weather) and feels its of good use in their training.
So next Thursday hopefully the weather will be kinder and we shall see more members there.
Its a great coached session to turn up the speed.
I have attached last nights session plan which we shall follow in a similar progressive manner for the next few weeks. ( on the website )

Membership Renewal Reminder #2

This is another reminder for the 132 members who still have not renewed their membership yet. Please do this as soon as possible if you want to continue enjoying the benefits of membership.
After the end of February your access to the website will be blocked and you will no longer be able to attend training sessions.
Solent Swim

I've been in touch with a group called Champion Behaviours via the Race New Forest website, who organise an annual open water swim from the Isle of Wight back to the mainland. Its sounds like quite a tough swim, but I've always quite liked the thought of swimming from one land mass to another and swimming the channel is probably beyond me...
