RESULTS: BaR Handicap Final, 8 September 2009

As seems to become a tradition, almost as many time-keepers, helpers and supporters came to the green at Bletchingdon as people actually racing. The last Summer BaR event of the season is always extra exciting as it is run as a true handicap race, it means some gaps at the start are 6 minutes others only 20 seconds, but in the end most finish within a few minutes of each other. But there are always a few who rise to the occasion and the outstanding performance came from Vicky Pearson who improved by two minutes both on the bike and for the second run to crash her pb by nearly four minutes. Tom Blincowe tried hard to run her down on the second run, but in the end he ran out of laps and had to settle for a well deserved second place nearly equalling his pb from two weeks ago. Tim Doole looked full of running and came home a clear third.

Welcome to Ian Meadowcroft who took part for the first time and well done to Bernard Calnan who finished the season off with another pb.
Honours for the fastest times of the day went to Crispin Hetherington for the men and to Heather Grimes for the women.
Thanks to Ian Smith and James Holly for time-keeping, and to everyone for making tonight and the whole season so enjoyable and successful.

See you all at the start line next April. Hanno.
