RESULTS: BaR event, 14 July 2009

Thanks to Emma McDermott, James Messer and Malcolm Bradbrook for staying to the end and making sure that all 28 finishers got a finishing time, when the heavens opened towards the end of the sixth edition of the Summer BaR series. Despite the wet finale there were a lot of good performances again this week.
Carolyn Jewell and Hannah Larbalestier made their début. Welcome, I hope you enjoyed it and come back for more.
Personal bests were recorded by Adrian Pugh, Bernard Calnan, Craig Mitchell, Peter Cartlidge (3 minutes), Simon Rayner, Stuart McLeish (4 minutes), Tim Doole, Tim Harrison and Tom Blincowe. Well done all of you!
Four people were spotted to cross the white line at the Bletchingdon corner and should consider themselves dq'ed. As I mentioned in the briefing, crossing the security line is the one offence race referees are very strict on. In contrast to drafting were you are mainly cheating yourself. riding dangerously puts the whole sport at risk. So please use the BaR events to practise staying on your side of the road.
Ian Loades missed his pb by only one second, winning in 53 minutes dead, after being the only person this week breaking half an hour on the bike. He was followed by Adrian Pugh and Tim Doole For the women it was Heather Grimes from Susan Turner and Steph Page
Well done to everyone who took part, and thanks to those who helped or supported.
The next event will take place in two weeks time, 28th July. [Sign-up here] I hope to see many of you there again, Hanno.

Fantastic quick results service Hanno, Thanks
Thanks Hanno for the BaR event write up and reminding us all of the importance of training and racing safely. You can read for yourselves on the link below what Richard Iles of Race New Forest had to say one year after an incident occured in his Swashbuckler Triathlon.
