RESULTS: BaR event, 30 June 2009

A full start field of 35 assembled for the fifth round of the BaR training events and despite having to cope with a partly "resurfaced" (gritted) bike course and some traffic lights between Bletchingdon and Kirtlington, there were again a lot of results to be proud of.

Welcome to Clare Nunneley, Craig Mitchell, Marie Rout Peter Cartlidge and Stuart McLeish who posted a first time. Well done! I hope you enjoyed it and we'll see you back trying to improve on your times.

Despite the road conditions, seven participants achieved a new best time, Well done! to Al Bell, Julian Hehir (finnally getting under the time he set in his first event three years ago), Katja Hartwich, Mark Rickinson, Paul Wolf, Tim Harrison and Victoria Pearson.

Abbie Clare equalled her pb, narrowly missing out on a top three spot overall, but taking the win for the women convincingly ahead of Steph Page and Emma McDermott. Mark Rickinson dominated all three stages to be fastest overall by over two minutes. He was followed by Jared Spier and Adrian Pugh.

A huge thank you to the time-keepers Susan Turner, Paul Tilleard and Mike Dunmore.
