I'm organising teams to enter in the National Club Relays, scheduled for Saturday August 22 in Nottingham. The Club Relays are our one and only chance of the year to race as teams, not induviduals, and is genuinely a great, fun day out. For those that want to compete for honours we'll be pitching teams to compete against the best, and for those that just want a good banter-filled time, to enter their first race, or get to know more people in the club, the relaxed atmosphere and traffic free bike course is ideal. The current plan of action is to get as many people as possible to travel up to Nottingham on the Friday night for a bit of a club funded social event at a camp site or pub close to the event. Race entries cost £154 per team, of which the club commitee has agreed to contribute £82 per team, this means that for a whole days activity you only need to pay £18, and I think you still get a free t-shirt! The race format is pretty simple, each team has 4 competitors: 1st person swims, tags 2nd person 2ns person swims, tags 3rd person 3rd person swimds, tags 4th person 4th person swimds, tags 1st biker 1st biker bikes like the wind, tags 2nd biker And so on in relay format until the 4th person runs and crosses the finish line. The race distances are: Swim 500m Bike 15km Run 5k I'll be looking to enter teams in the following categories:
Male - Four males, any age
Female - Four female, any age
Mixed - Two male & two females
Male Vet 40 + - Four males all over 40 years as at 31/12/2009. British Triathlon Age Group H, I, J, K, L, M, N
Female Vet 40 + - Four females all over 40 years as at 31/12/2009. British Triathlon Age Group H, I, J, K, L, M, N
Male Vet 50 + - Four males all over 50 years as at 31/12/2009. British Triathlon Age Group J, K, L, M, N
