BaR 6/5/08 wrap up
The good weather attracted a bumper field for the BaR season opener this week.
As well as number of first timers all the big guns turned up to test their speed on the classic Bletchingdon course.
It turned out to be a pretty impressive event with Olly Mytton breaking his own course record, shaving off a couple of seconds to come home in 50:21. Special mentions also for impressive performances form Rachel Stoakes, leading the ladies home and Adam Moore on his debut with a fine final run to finish in a shade over 55 minutes. Undoubtedly the most resilient performer of the day was Zoe Ballantyne in her inaugural Bletchingdon BaR, finishing with a smile on her face and vowing to return despite completing the event on a bike with MTB tyres and brake pads rubbing on the rims;
Thanks to James Currie and Sophie Whitworth for taking on the difficult duty of time keeping, with such a large field and so many new faces this was not an easy task.
Well done to everyone for the efforts; nothing hurts quite like this session.
