Swim coaching
Hi I've just joined the Club and am unsure how it all works and in particular how much coaching is available. I need to improve everything but REALLY need to improve my swimming. Does anyone know a good swimming coach?
Thanks
Ann
Hi Ann
Welcome to the club, I think you have hit one of THE questions at the moment. We are currently trying to re organise coaching and sessions but this can only happen with the help of more coaches. In a nutshell the club provides a friendly point of contact for like minded people to get together, in doing this we try to provide good sessions for members to train at with as much coaching as possible. You will get more attention paying a coach for one to one swimming, in my view swim for tri is one of the best. However club coaching is availble at Monday and Friday swim sessions in the main but as a limited resource its up to you to grab a bit of attention and put yourself forward. Our coaches are a great bunch of people whom are currently not paid but will do all they can to help.
See you around
Ian
Thanks Ian. That's really helpful. Am willing to pay for swim coaching if anyone knows someone local who's good.

Hello Ann
I'll look forward to meeting you as I swim coach on a regular basis at the Dragon sessions on a Friday which re-start mid September.
I have recently invested in a couple of swim lessons with someone called Goose ( yes Goose really appears to be his name or at least everyone knows him as Goose). He is a Personal Trainer and is an ex national swim champion and knows how to teach - I have found just 2 lessons very helpful.
He is away until August 20th but here are his details

Will probably meet you soon!

Hello,
I am in a similar position to you, I've recently joined the club and need to put some effort into my swimming. Earlier this year I had a swimming lesson with Marie at the White Horse leisure centre in Abingdon, which was fantastic and my very poor front crawl became much better. She also emailed me with some personalised training plans, which was very helpful. Her email is: frontcrawler [at] tesco [dot] net
Best wishes,
Jenny
I've just joined the club and have been taking swimming lessons with Annie Oberlin-Harris at the Rosenblatt who's a swimming coach and triathlete. Her email is aoberlinharris [at] hotmail [dot] com

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.
