The first ever Nokia Thames Swim between Hampton Court Palace and Kingston!

Looking to do a little something before london tri anyone??

A brand new addition to the
Human Race calendar, our first ever Nokia Thames Swim on Sunday August
1st. The Nokia Thames Swim is part of the Nokia Outdoor Series, a
selection of events designed to celebrate the great outdoors and enable
you and your friends to enjoy being active in some of the UK's most
spectacular locations.

• A two mile
  downstream swim
• Starts at
  Hampton Court Palace and finishes at Ravens Ait, Kingston
• Limited to
  just 1,000 swimmers
• Set off in
  waves of 100 at a time with 10 minute intervals
• The perfect
  way to improve your open water technique or just have a go at a longer
  endurance swim
• Swimmers
  will never be more than 20 foot from the bank along the banks of the
  river

• Safety, as
  always, will be paramount with kayakers patrolling the river and
  spotters being placed at 50 metre intervals
• Wetsuits
  will be compulsory
• There will
  be a bag drop and free shuttle service
• Help raise
  vital funds for Official Charity WaterAid
